Dealer Comments
The 2027 Hyundai Kona SEL Sport stands out as a practical family SUV, offering rear-seat comfort and cargo flexibility for daily routines and weekend adventures. Its two-row layout is designed to easily accommodate child seats while still providing ample room for backpacks, groceries, or sports gear. The Ultimate Red Metallic exterior adds a touch of vibrancy, making it an appealing choice for families seeking style along with substance.
Parents and caregivers who prioritize both safety and day-to-day practicality will appreciate the Kona SEL Sport’s thoughtful blend of features. The rear seat supports car seat installation with ease, and the split folding configuration makes it simple to expand cargo space for family trips or larger hauls. In a region like Lakeland, FL, where families juggle school runs and outdoor activities year-round, the Kona’s flexibility and efficient layout provide convenience and comfort for every member of the household.
Powered by a 2.0L I4 DOHC 16V engine paired with a CVT and front-wheel drive, this SUV delivers smooth, predictable acceleration ideal for city driving and highway travel with the whole family aboard. The cabin remains quiet and composed during commutes or longer journeys, minimizing fatigue for parents and kids alike. With an EPA-estimated 28 city and 35 highway MPG, the Kona helps families save on fuel during daily errands or longer road trips.
Peace of mind is at the forefront with this SUV’s safety suite. The Kona SEL Sport features dual front impact and side airbags, overhead airbags, ABS brakes, traction control, electronic stability control, and a rearview parking camera for confident maneuvering in crowded lots. Auto high-beam headlights increase visibility at night, while brake assist and tire pressure monitoring add further layers of protection. Together, these active systems are focused on protecting what matters most: your family.
The SUV’s features are tailored to enhance family life. Heated front bucket seats, automatic temperature control, and dual-zone A/C ensure comfort for both driver and passengers. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration keep everyone entertained and connected. The leather steering wheel and adjustable steering column add driving ease, while split folding rear seats and a cargo organizer make transporting strollers, sports equipment, or groceries hassle-free. Remote keyless entry and a security system add everyday convenience and peace of mind.
Compared to segment rivals like the Honda HR-V and Toyota Corolla Cross, the Kona SEL Sport distinguishes itself with a stronger suite of comfort and connectivity features at its trim level. Its class-leading fuel efficiency and advanced cabin amenities give it an edge for families focused on both economy and convenience, while its bold color options allow for a more personalized touch. The Kona’s value proposition stands out in a crowded field of compact SUVs.
How easy is it to install a car seat? The split folding rear seat and accessible LATCH anchors simplify secure installation. Is this SUV safe for new drivers in the family? Active safety features such as stability control, ABS, and multiple airbags offer reassurance for all ages. Does it include teen driver monitoring? While no specific teen driver system is listed, the integrated safety tech supports responsible driving.
